Banned due to Microsoft

Long story short, I was banned from PayPal for selling codes for Microsoft products that I got off someone else (had no idea you weren't allowed to do this).

Anyone ever heard of this before and this is there any way round it? Could I provide some sort of proof that I could possible get from somewhere to overturn the ban?

This has been heard of many times - dangerous item indeed. We don't provide ways to get around it.

You are unlikely to be reinstated but if you have time, give it a try - what steps are they giving you for reinstatement? Long shot in truth...

Avoid software products as they are often deemed as counterfeit

You could hardly have picked a worse product to sell op, there are plenty of easier products out there you can be selling, read up a lot more on this forum for a start you will learn a lot more of the why's and wherefore' before making anymore mistakes like this that lose you your accounts.

MS products are very risky to sell. Lost of tricks to do it properly. So you better stop selling them, or you will get banned again and again.

Re: Banned due to Microsoft

It will be very difficult for you to sell ANY software codes on eBay. Microsoft is especially harsh about it. My understanding is that most codes are genuine codes, but that they are not supposed to be sold because their license is very limited or something.

The last time I bought a code for Windows, when Windows 7 first came out, the code worked for 30 days and then my screen went black and told me that Windows was not Genuine. At that point it annoys you until you either buy a license or until you die, whichever comes first. So no more codes for me.

But I really DO wish you the best of luck.

Yeah selling Microsoft is a big NO NO for eBay. I lost two good eBay accounts doing this 3 years ago. I was able to sell a few and made decent amount of money but it didn't last. When searching eBay i'd see a lot of listings for these codes and all of them said email delivery. I figured I could do it too but I was mistaken

Only way you can sell Microsoft on eBay is if you have the box and COA sticker on it and even then you require a special license I believe. There's ways to sell these keys but you have to be very good at covering your tracks so that Paypal doesn't find out. You don't want to mention it on PayPal notes that's for damn sure. So eBay won't work. Best of luck in your future ventures
