Verifying documents for PayPal limitation
 

I have a PayPal business account that I was using for sending payments, but it got limited. They're asking for:

Copy of driver's license/passport

Copy of social security card or other government issued document with my social security number

I previously had an account attached to my driver's license and SSN permanently limited. Because I am sending payments from my credit cards, I have to use my actual name.

Is there a way for me to get past this limitation? If I really wanted to, I guess I could just get a new driver's license and apply for my once in a lifetime SSN change, but that's a pretty absurd sacrifice just to get a functioning PayPal account.

I don't think I really have the luxury. I hit PayPal's limits for additional verification pretty quick - unless I get an account sorted out, this will keep happening. I'm not doing anything that violates PayPal's use policies, so once I pass this I expect it to be smooth sailing.

How in depth does PayPal go with verifying the ID and SSN?

I've already added an EIN to the account, by the way. They seem to want the SSN too.

If you got limited, then yes you are doing something that violates policies....

Thing with limitations is too often only paypal understands the reasons.

Adding the EIN may well work in your favo. Do you have any idea what happened for this to happen?

What were you doing with the account?

Just paying people. Really, that's it. I sent a large amount of money to someone overseas the day before the account was limited. The account was like 6 months old at that point and I had already verified my EIN.

BOOM and the truth shall set you free .. You sent a large amount of money to someone overseas might have something to do with it ...
that is a HUGE red flag especially if their account inst verified ..
Did you go a step further and send it as a gift to family or friends or pay for goods/ services ?

Yes, that's why I mentioned it. With my payment patterns, any account is going to get limited pretty fast because of fraud and money laundering concerns. If I can get past this verification step I don't expect to have that many issues - on my old, non-stealth account I could send as much money as I wanted. I screwed up that account with activity unrelated to my current activities.

Goods and services, of course.

Just have to do like everyone else withdraw to a bank then send western union bitcoin foodstamps

That's giving up pretty easily.

What's the normal strategy here? Call them up and say you're not a US citizen? Other countries have numbers with purposes similar to SSN, though...

Ein number or call them and try to convince you were a victim of id theft and not going to give out ur ssn .. photoshop can be ur friend with the rest

i even acted Chinese once and kept sayin but me no understand i sell good many times ..
they removed the ssn request and jsut asked for id me luv u long time :)

It's creative! I should try to call paypal when I got this problem. As I'm in Hong Kong, will there any issue using internet phone like google voice or skype to call paypal / ebay?
