PayPal Instant Verification

I've searched the threads but they all seem 1 year or older.

When adding a bank account, it gives me the option to log into my online banking to approve my bank account, for instant verification.

If I do that, will the information about past bank accounts (associated with limited PayPal accounts) be visible to PayPal?

The bank account for the stealth account is basically a sub-account of the main one.

Thanks guys

Re: PayPal Instant Verification

What exactly does it say word for word?

It says something similar in the UK - but means login to your online banking to basically copy and paste the code they sent, nothing to do with linking your online banking with PayPal. Are your misconstruing what their actually asking you to do?

Thanks for the reply,

when it asks you to link your bank account, you have the option to log into your online banking for instant verification, or you have the option of manually giving the bank transaction number without logging in (which is what I did)..

I hope that made sense

I see. We dont have that here. You did the logical thing. The other option could of turned out for the worst as you don't know what information they'll attempt to collect when you link your entire bank with them.

No they will not be looking at any other info and it is illegal for them to do so or to keep your login information.
As a matter of fact it is not even them doing this verification but rather a third party integrated into their system.

That answer in 100% correct. Even as a newbie when given that same choice of clicking an instant link to my bank or entering it manually. My gut feeling was to stay away from "Links"...that's a scary word. I choose to enter the info manually. Worked out great!

Okay,

What I meant was:

When creating a PayPal account, and it's time to connect your bank account, you receive the option of either:

1 - Signing into your online banking, THEN connecting your bank account/account number. OR,

2 - Entering your account number/routing number information manually, and waiting 2-3 days.

Being the impatient ******* that I am, I decided to sign into my online banking, and THEN instantly connect my new savings account information. It's been a day or two, and I believe that PayPal doesn't have the ability to actually see your online banking details.

I believe this means that they can't use that information to link you to prior accounts that may/may not have been suspended.

I just decided to link a bank using the instant verification method on paypal. Working well for now.

Re: PayPal Instant Verification

Never used the instant verification method because I was always concerned PP would see other details such as account name, as well as other accounts on the online profile.

Does anyone know what happens if you have more than one account with the bank, will PP give you the choice of linking one of them, or does it just give you the option to link the "primary" one?
