Understanding the Limitation Triggers - Questions

Dear friends,

i am posting this thread because I wish to understand the triggers which make pp accounts getting limited better. In this context, I have a few particular questions.

The reason I wish to understand the triggers better is, that I own a few stealth pp accounts, where my customers send me money for the goods I sent to them. I want to make clear that there is no fraud intention at all regarding this.

None of the accounts are veryfied. They are all registered with a adress which really exist (not mine) and with my shop name as my name (obviously not a real person name).

Recently, I tried to send 180 euros (which was almost the whole balance on that acc.) to another stealth account, which I made 2 days ago. I did this from the same ISP and the same pc (same cookies) as I always used for this acc in the past but not the same cookies as the newer target account. This one was made from the same pc, but other cookies (as I made another windows user account for this) and another IP (got a new IP-release before going to the paypal site).
As I tried to send the money as a gift, the account got limited. PP sent me an email that unusual activities have been detected and my account got limited because of this. This happened instantly, like 1 min after I sent the transaction command.

my questions:

1.) What exactly triggered the limitation? Was it due to the fact that

- I tried to send money from an unverified account to another unverified account in general?

or because

- I tried to send money from an unverified account to another account as a gift without causing paypal fees?

or because

- the amount was too high (close the total balance) ?

Has anybody made similar experiences? Any other ideas, why the account might have got limited?

2.) If I send PP a scan of my real id and any papers they wish, how would they react in respect of the fact that I obviously violated their terms by providing wrong name and adresses during registration?
Will they ban me?
Would they also close my real, verified account which I use for commercial purpose for 10 years with thousands of euros income per month?

3.) What would be the safest way to “use” the money on a pp stealth account? In the past, I used the balance to buy some cheap goods on ebay. This never caused a limitation, but I never bought something expensive. The most expensive purchase was around 40 euros. Total balance of the stealth account was around 200 euros.

Right now, I have one with around 300 euros on it. I have never used the balance on this account yet. Now I would like to use it to buy a new monitor on ebay for around 250 euros, but I am afraid that this could cause a limitation as I never performed such a “big” purchase with a stealth account.

What do you think, how high is the risk of triggering a limitation? Any ideas how I could avoid this?

4.) I also have a stealth account, which got limited 1,5 years ago (with around 400 euros on it). I read stories of some users here which could transfer their money from a limited account to a bank account after 180 days without verifying the limited account. But when this account got limited, I did not receive any email telling me of a restriction time period of 180 days or similar. Can it be possible for me to get the money from this account anyways? What do you think?

Thank you for all your comments and advices in advance.

Re: Understanding the Limitation Triggers - Questions

it could be any of those factors, or a mixture, we cannot tell you, but all are known triggers.

you need to provide matching id info, not mis-matching. If you need help contact an account seller. Yes mismatch would not only ban you but jeopardise your real acc, in your real info.

buying from ebay or paying for goods via any well-known website is fairly safe. It is better than transfering to someones paypal directly. Hopefully you are able to receive your goods or click and collect without messing with linked addresses.

For the limited paypal, when you say unverified, do you mean it has no bank attached? Look back on your emails to see when they limited you, as the 180 counts down from then. If no time period was mentioned, you will need to post on this thread exactly what they did write to you.

Alright, I won't do that then.

What do you mean by those addresses?

I mean there was no bank account attached. Also, no document ever uploaded.

I just checked my emails and hey, they indeed did send me that usual email exactly 180 day after the limitation, telling that my funds are available for withdrawal. But that is a bit more than 1 year ago. I should still be able to withdraw it right?
I don't have the cookies for that account anymore though... I hope this won't cause any problems.
What if I attach a bank account, which is or was already used for another pp account? And what if that acc had gone limited also? Would they immediately remove the withdraw option then or...?

addresses - I just meant not to link up addresses when buying. If you have a main account keept that address seperate from any other paypals.

you want to add a bank that you already used? I would have thought one already in use is just a bad idea and not even an option or viable to add, because 1 bank cannot be used at the same time on different paypals. If you mean a bank that was used in the past on a banned account, well this is not a good idea either. You could call and ask them to add it, but it is a bit risky, I heard of people doing it but it is not recommended.

I do not know if you can withdraw this late, if you got an email at 180, there is hope, it never happened to me...
