Paypal asking for SSN# or EIN# after just $3000...
 

I definitely will not past the $20,000 annual threshold

If I ignore the request for an SSN# or EIN#, will it reset in January 2017 or is my Paypal more likely to be limited even though I'm not even close to the $20,000 annual mark?

Facts are you will not be able to collect any more funds once you hit the 20K and 200 mark. It will reset next year but not always on January 1st.

You most likely can collect funds all the way up until you hit both thresholds of 200 items and 20K.

You can add an EIN now OR start selling again with zero issues on January 1st IF you stop selling soon or you can run sales until you get limited and if you dont hit both thresholds an automatic reset starts January 1st.

Note that paypal 'projects' your annual sales based on your current monthly sales. This means if that $3,000 you sold was all in one single month they would have projected you would hit $36,000 in the year hence the request for EIN.

I've done $3000 in the last 60 days and wanted to just hover around $1500 per month, but of that, I probably did $1000 the 1st 30 days and around $2000 the last 30 days, which that $2000 for the month triggering the annual projection ($24,000 per year).

I also have done 400+ transactions now (most of my transactions are between $4.99-$10.00

I guess I have to be careful on that and i didn't even think about PayPal being triggered by monthly sales being projected annually.
