PayPal limited - linked to an old account 3k stuck
 

Paypal limited my account Saturday saying it was linked to an account I haven't used for 5 months.bith are stealth.

I have $3,000 in it... Awful timing, short of funds

I don't know how there would be any linkage.

Got a big list from PP to send in. Basically everything you can ask. Id, bank statements, invoices, ect...

Anyone mastered recovering funds in this situation? Pretty pissed. I've lost $5,000 already because of PP

Are Both accounts are stealth?

completely different details?

what ip do you use?

Whats the full list they are asking for?

Both stealth.

Different details.

VPN / diff users

The account it was "linked" to was limited on EB 5 months back.
Only the PP is limited on this one, the EB is still active.

The list:
Photo id
Bank statement
Credit card statement
Seller invoices
Proof of address
Utility bill
Shipment info
Proof of delivery
Ect..

Does not say 180 days... Just says I need to resolve this issue with a big list

usually when they ask for such an amount of info, it is very hard to pass it.

Need to get creative, but it really needs to be rock solid.

I've passed one before similar to what they want from you. Although it wasn't for a "linked" account.

but.. it's $3k, worth a shot at getting it passed.

It was on Sept 10. I logged in only to refund a $20 order. I included a message to the buyer, that was all I did that day. The VPN was disconnected (24vc) at one point while on eB, but all traffic must be sent over the VPN + the wifi I was on was a unused IP.

No the linked account does not owe money, it has funds in its paypal that were also stuck for 45 days.

What about using a separate stealth account to "buy" from this one, than request a refund. Moving the funds to that one by refunds.


Also, I still have unshipped orders for about $800 that I was going to ship today. Should I ship them?

The eB acc is a year old, 31 - 100% feedback, above standards

Usually 180 days, but then they can ask for ID still to withdraw it.

Personally, I'd refund them. But that's me.. just in case PayPal decide to play funny buggers and lock it up for 180 days. I'd sell the stock on other accounts.

Can I make a new Paypal and continue using the same eBay if the PP has been limited?

They'll eventually catch on to you.

Can be weeks, can be a couple of months, but they will eventually link you.

This is why, you should be building stealth accounts whilst running other accounts, in case one go's down, you'll always have another to replace it.

Regardless of everything, I will be able to withdraw the funds eventually right? I can leave the bank attached, I just wasn't sure because they never said a timeframe or anything of when funds may be available. Even without submitting anything.

Yes I am now building more accounts, it's just 3k is a lot. I had to start from scratch all over again.

Are you doing anything in the "gray" with either PayPal/ebay accounts? I don't think you would be limited just because of one instance where you didn't have your VPN on when it should have been. The accounts would be linked, but limited is another question.

Was one of the PayPal accounts already limited? that's why the other one was limited also, since PayPal will think they are "together".

Sometimes PayPal limits because they think you will get over the $20,000 annual threshold as they take the monthly sales and extrapolate what that would be for 12 months. In other words, maybe you were averaging more than $1666+ for a few months.

But it seems that you were limited for some other reason...

Do you have an idea why you were limited? That might explain the linkage.

The other account it was linked to had been limited. I had went away travelling and the account went to crap because I wasn't able to respond to cases ect...

It's just very strange how these two linked.

No I was not doing anything in the grey. Both accounts were good sellers!

I can live without the 3k for the time being, but as long as I'll be able to withdraw it down the road.

You will be able to recover your funds. It might take awhile though. Message threads here state that average is 90 days, but as early as 45 days and as late as 180 days.

i DO think that because one of your accounts got limited, they probably checked all accounts that had the same IP address and erred on the side of caution and assumed the accounts are by the same person.

Of course, they can't tell what IPs are "shared" accounts or public accounts, but if ONLY 1 or 2 accounts are connected to that IP, even if names are different, they'll somehow link them as somehow "connected" with each other, even if one of them was on for just one time.

that would not work, since you can only refund the amount up to the value the person paid.

So if you bought an item from yourself for $30 you can only refund up to the $30

You can also no longer receive payments on a limited account.

Read the stealth book and start again. build accounts constantly so if one goes down you have another to replace it.

youll get the money after 180 days. guaranteed. I've waited 180 days on probably 40 accounts and never have been screwed. Leave your bank account attached but sometimes they will disconnect it. 9 times out of 10 I will get a check sent to me after the 6 months. If you dont have a real address on file with them add it now. Either modify your exsiting address or add a credit or debit card with the billing address where you want the check sent. Its much more difficult to change your address once you account is offically closed.

45 day releases do happen but not very often. I know the account must be limited but not closed for that to happen. You may be able to delay the closure by supplying the requested information slowly. Stretching out the limitation process over the 45 days. Not sure if that would work. Anybody else try that?

OMG...normally I find posts with photos so much more interesting, but seeing your screen grab of the PP requirements brings back memories that actually make my stomach sick.... logging in and seeing that page when you're not expecting to.... just an awful feeling.
