Paypal requesting SSN# is it new policy
 

I'm trying to open a PayPal account to open eBay account. My wife account was suspended indefinitely. I have an Ebay and PayPal account but it has a different address in different state. I purchased the Paypal prepaid MasterCard but Paypal won't open account without SSN#. What are my options?

This not new policy , now paypal check holders
When you confrim SSN, then PayPal send prepaid MasterCard in your address.

Paypal prepaid MasterCard? First time I've heard of that. Regardless though it's law in the USA for issuers of reloadable prepaid debit cards to verify the identities of customers. That's why reloadable cards can't be used for stealth accounts, but prepaid gift cards (non-reloadable) can.

Why did you purchase a prepaid debit card if you're trying to open a Paypal account? You are still able to use the Paypal account (for purchases) when an Ebay account is suspended.

So I can still my old paypal account when opening a new eBay account? I guess that is where I'm confused.

PayPal have prepaid debit cards

When you used paypal prepaid card all transactions show in your paypal account: payment via cards, withdraw balance in ATM , all show.
