A dilemma - need your opinions.

Hey, so my problem is:

I'd like to open a business PayPal account on my real name that was previously limited but yea, the name would be the only thing that links both accounts (everything, including DOB is different). And now I'm left with the choice whether to make a formal change to my surname or not. It would make me a completely new person for PayPal, otherwise the name would be shared with an account that has been limited.

Do you think it's worth to make a little mess in life in order to safely get back on PayPal (I know it's a bit personal question)? Does PayPal really link accounts basing on the name? My surname is very unique and the first account was a personal one.

PLEASE DON'T TELL ME TO READ THE STEALTH BOOK ETC.

Make a slight change or variation to your first name to make things safer.
if the ONLY factor which is similar is the name you should be fine.
Out of curiosity why not just go stealth with the name as well? why would that not work for you?

That's because I'm gonna sell my products on a website, it means I need a business account in order to process automatic payments and where I live, it's only possible to have a single one company.

My name doesn't really have a variation and I think that such thing only causes problems once PayPal reviews your documents.

Not much more views to provide - truth has been told in quite a few posts. Stealth works for a reason...

Actually there are possibly many views to provide in order to advise me but as for now only @slokor has done that, not sure if he's the only one who has read the whole topic or simply not ignorant.

To start with, don't even mention the word "ebay" because I'm not selling there!

What you're all saying might sound easy for you but it's not for me. The basic difference is that I live in EU, there are 2,5k limits so it's not like USA where I can just stay under the radar of SSN verification and eventually split the sales into a few accounts when I get bigger.

Furthermore, as I've already mentioned I won't be selling on ebay. I'm going to sell products on my website and create some kind of brand so making another one after PayPal limits my account (and blacklists the website) is out of question. It means I need an account I'll be able to provide all kind of documentation for - including ID, Adress, Tax info, Business details (it has to be a business account since premier account is not available in my country). Will I be able to do that with a stealth account? :) Don't think so.

I'm still looking for some advices on the real matter.

You're probably right, this forum is populated with people who can't read and probably ignorant... look somewhere else.

Do you see any other option? :) Why would you keep telling someone about stealth if this person clearly states that he's not interested in it?

Hey! I very appreciate your reply but it's in no way connected to the real question that is:

A good policy is if you can avoid using paypal, then avoid it. It's a headache with limitations and such. There are other payment processors to explore that can ACCEPT paypal payments.

Paypal isn't the only team in the league.

Yeah, I'm completely aware of that. The problem is that I also have to pay people via PayPal and that's what makes me rely on having an account myself.

Unless you have a really really really uncommon name, the name alone shouldn't raise a flag.

There are millions of Michael Smiths, and Tom Jones etc.. in the world. However, if you are using the same name in the same area as your other account I wouldn't recommend it.

Also, Paypal does not work well for payment processing directly on your own website, especially on a new account, but that's a whole another matter.

Well, it is kinda uncommon as there are only 100~ people in my country that share the same name.

What do you mean by the same area?

And why do you think PayPal doesn't work well for such things?

I don't like using same pp to accept payments and pay other ppl in general. I know that's easy for dropshippers but knowing how pp frowns on dropshippers, I like to keep things separate.

I'm not sure how it works outsite the U.S.

IF 2 people with an uncommon name create accounts within a few minutes of each other, and are selling and processing payments for the same items theres a good chance you will be linked.

Basically, if you have an uncommon name, and the address you used before and the new address you are using are in the same postal code, you might have some problems.

The postal code is different. It's still fairly close to the first location but well, everything is different.

Still a toss up, you never know!

But if your using Stealth Address, and even Stealth DOB why not just change the name as well?

There's no stealth, all the data is real.
