Problem with verifying stealth account
 

I am from Europe and someone from USA made me an ebay and paypal account 2 years ago. I used them almost every day with a vpn and there was never any problem. Today, when I logged into my paypal, it said there was some unusual activity and I should confirm it is my account.

It asks me to either get an sms or automated call, however, the problem is the number entered when creating the account does not exist anymore. So I wanted to add a new one. But it says "The number you entered seems not to be registered in your name".

So how to proceed? If the old number does not exist anymore, so you cannot change to a new one??? Then how to verify?

It cannot be possible that you cannot enter a new number. What if you move to a new address or change phone provider?

The number needs to be changed in the account and verified before they pull this shiit on you, not after. Someone here said wait 6 months and it might accept the new number, personally I think they're full of shiit and if I were you I'd just start over

The problem is that you tried entering a new number after being asked to verify your account. Thats why you got the next message, saying it does not appear to be registered to you. You can either call paypal, as others have mentioned doing (not my personal experience) or you can wait it out and continue logging in over the course of a couple weeks and see if that works. Always keep a working number on the account.
