PayPal Funds: On Hold
 

Hey all,

So I have an account that was getting instant payments. It has 15 positive feedbacks, and has all the best metrics.

Today I sold an item and for some reason it has the funds on 21 day hold again.

Any reason why this is?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Holds can come and go at anytime. It depends on the risk your activities present to Paypal.

A larger amount than normal received could have triggered it.

With 15 feedback, it sounds like your account is probably still relatively new as well.

If you were initially getting instant payments you were pretty lucky. Often if you start to sell slightly more expensive items though the holds will come back

Ah I see. Makes sense. This item did sell for a higher price than my normal.

I'm now sure that is it!

Update:

Now my other account just sold an item (regular price), and the payment in also on hold.

This doesn't mean they've been linked in some way does it?


I also just listed a lot of new items, could they have put the payments on hold because they are taking a look at the items?

I have found the holds come off usually within 7 days of the tracking number shows as delivered. I have even had holds over for items $200-$300 come off within 48 hours of the item tracking number shows as delivered.
