eBay Stealth (needs to be updated ? )
 

Hello All,
I bought the ebook to support this forum. However, as of april 1st, some merchant companies will not integrate with ebay. So is the information provided on ebay stealth ebook up to date ?

I may format my laptop and install xp on it. I also am pllaning to buy a dial up connection so that I can use 2-3 accounts from the same laptop. it seems like the best alternate to paypal is ccnow but I am not sure if it will work or if it'll integrate with shipping (just like paypal)

Maybe I should try paypal... But I'm scared to reveal myself if I decide to go with paypal...

any comments ?

ebay stealth is under constant review. With a new policy hours old, the amendments will happen. In the meantime, keep up to date on the forum as the other users do. Address any concerns by pm to aspkin.:peace:

you can use ccnow but ebay won't approve it as a merchant account and you will need to send out invoices to each customer 1 by 1. you can use cartmanager along with paypal and you will have less issues. cartmanager does not let ebay know which paypal is being used. but again you will need to get merchant approval first with some sort of merchant account to be approved to use something other than a linked paypal account.

now... ccnow customer service replied my question. Let me copy and paste it;

items directly from your website or through eBay and then allows
your customers to proceed through a secure checkout on our web
site. The available payment options are credit card and Paypal.
You will not need a Paypal account to accept Paypal payment
through CCNow. We provide our Paypal account information to
receive payment from the customer.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, I
would be more than happy to answer any further questions that
you may have whatsoever."


I am not sure if cartmanager will accept paypal as a payment option.

you link your paypal to cartmanager. when the buyer buys something the item is marked as "goods". i use it all the time.

about cartmanager, do you need ebay to aprove it as a merchant account? I think ive read that CM just emails the buyer (detecting a purchase) and gives instructions to use paypal but through their gateway (thus leaving ebay outside of the circle). Is this is correct then you dont need ebay OK to use it, please let me know!

CartManager isn't a merchant account, it's a shopping cart service. You add payment methods to it (PayPal, PayNet, merchant account, etc.), and then the customer can choose which one to use for payment.

As for eBay; to be able to check the merchant account checkbox on your listings...
You must get a merchant account, have eBay approve it, and then add it too your CartManager setup.

Unless you have an older Ebay account opened before 11/07, than you can just check in your auction listing that you accept cc via merchant, no need to fax Ebay anything as they won't ask this on older accounts.
