Paid Ebay Fees with Real Bank Account :(
 

Hi,

Hoping someone could help clear something up.

I have just paid ebay fees not realising that there werent quite enough funds in the account. As far as I was and still am aware, my bank acc is not a default method.

However, it appears to have took half funds from PP and the other from Bank acc in my real name.

Am I now totally screwed?

1 time is unlikely to cause you issue - avoid repetition. This has happened to other people before (myself included way way back in early stealth phase). My account for which that happened 1 time still lives on /continued success

I've had this happen and nothing happened to the account.

Just try not to let it happen again.

I just cant see the balance has been deducted from my Bank. Is it likely they may decline it then cause PP to take action?

It seems to be hit and miss that you would get the dreaded "We noticed some unusual activity in the bank account linked to your PayPal account." message.

This is how you get it but it's rare from what I've seen.

If your initial verification deposits have gone through to verify the account, very unlikely that the bank will decline the withdrawal unless 1) you don't have funds to cover and you don't have overdraft protection or 2) you have disabled withdrawal from the account AFTER verifying it

What it will come down to is the bank account type.

If its a current or basic account then the payment may go through.

If its a savings account then the payment wont go through and PayPal may remove the bank account from the PayPal. If that happens all you have to do is phone them and get the bank account readded :)

What you then want to do is remove the bank account is a preauthorized method for paying fees and instead set the VCC added to the PayPal as the default backup. That will prevent this ever happening again
