Question about sending money from old Paypal account to newly purchased one
 

Would anyone know if you can 'send' money from a newly purchased Paypal account to an old Paypal account without being linked?

Also, lets say that you have purchased both an eBay and Paypal account and everything is smooth and running great. Can you log inot your old paypal account from the same PC at home? Will cookies pick up on this? Linkage maybe?

As far as the the same computer different paypal accounts question...Yes, you are certainly ABLE to log into multiple paypal accounts from the same computer (and IP). Is it advisable to do that, if you think that there is the possibility that your actions taken with one of those accounts could lead to that account being limited?...No.

Library computers may have 10s of people log into different accounts from the same computer each day, without issue. However, the likelihood that an account in good standing gets limited as a result of it being linked to an account in poor standing is certainly higher if those two accounts have been used on the same computer/IP.

As far as sending money from a new account to an old account (it doesn't really matter if you bought the account or not), that IS possible without being linked. However, if paypal picks up on suspicious activity in either of those accounts, and through the use of IP, cookies, or any other method of tracking finds what it feels is a connection between them, it may limit one or both. From what I can gather from reading posts on here and other places, there is no definitive yes/no when it comes to paypal limitations or linking. Just do your best to stay totally off their radar. I have a main account that couldn't be used with ebay anymore so it became my withdraw account then setup new accounts that I would occasionally move money to the main account when I got the feeling that my withdraws might now make it out of the new accounts. All of the new accounts eventually got limited for one reason or another but nothing ever came back on my main account. I was using different ip and windows users to keep them separate tho. but it really wouldn't have taken much to put together a pattern to link all of my accounts together had someone manually looked into it.

I've never tried this before. I'm not really sure it's worth the risk if you can't deal with all accounts involved being limited/linked, but I might just try it next week.

Just as an experiment, I think I'm going to send about $200 from a 3 month old confirmed/unverified account to a 3 yr old confirmed/verified account that receives payments of that size routinely from ebay sales. I'll post an update after to see if the accounts get limited.

I certainly wouldn't make a habit of doing it, just because it does seem like tempting fate in terms of limitations, but I really don't see why sending money from a relatively new account to an older one would (necessarily) link the accounts or cause a limitation.

All of my accounts are each completely different names, addresses, phone #s, as well as completely different computers (not just user accounts or IPs). In my case, I don't really see it as that much of a risk (aside from the fact that the $200 may be a relatively large transaction regardless for the new account).

Have you considered the same zip code? Paypal may look into it further if you keep sending money and receiving with 2 accounts of the same zip? And if so, it's not that everything is different.....

Lyda is certainly correct. If paypal traced the IPs, they would all come up within the same region. They wouldn't have any idea that it was the same person, so I don't think it's a serious red flag. However, it is still a risk you are taking. That's why I wouldn't recommend anyone make a habit of this. I think doing this every once in awhile is fine (as long as the accounts don't have disputes made against them, which in turn would dramatically increase the scrutiny they're put under), but I wouldn't recommend doing this continuously.
