how much money can you receive at once with paypal?
 

i dont care if its 21 day limited. but how much moeny can my account receive at once if i have like 50 transactions of a mix of going in and out. buying nad selling... no more than 1k... i want to receive money for my old car ($2700) but not sure if my buyer will get a sending error. because its a big jump from $400 (most i ever received) he hasnt tried yet, not sure what the best way to go on about this with paypal.

You really should be getting cash when selling a car.

If you take PayPal you can really expose yourself to being scammed. Your PayPal is also likely to get limited with that jump

i dont mind if it is limited... i just submit my drivers lisence and 21 day hold thats it right? as long as paypal doesnt hold it for 1 month + i dont care.

i just dont want to run into sending errors and then have my account completely locked down and i need to call them to fix it... if this is even such thing.

This is a stealth forum. What you recommend is not recommended here. Anyways you don't care at all if Paypal holds your money so pretty much you can do whatever...

Just so there's some factual info in this thread, the maximum amount you can send or receive with Paypal in a single transaction is $10,000.

The biggest payment I've received was $7500 and that was on a year old business account.

OP - since it sounds like this is your real personal account, you might as well give Paypal a call before you try to receive the payment for your car. They would be able to tell you exactly what to expect, and they may also be able to help make the process a bit smoother by giving your account some kind of pre-authorization for such a large payment.

sorry made this thread fast. im not selling my actual car. im selling my car diesel engine.



does anyone know what the seller protection is? what if the buyer says i sent him a box of rocks? maybe i should video tape me in ups packing it with tracking in case the buyer tries anything. but yes this is online because no one locally would give me money for what its worth. guess ill give them a call.

Last I heard video taping and stuff like that does not work. It would be your word vs the buyer and USUALLY the buyer wins.

People around here are just paranoid. It's the nature of this forum.

Other than accepting cash on pickup, Paypal is going to be your best option because it's the only other payment method allowed on eBay (other than a merchant account, which is irrelevant for this). Just make sure you carefully document everything about this transaction so you've got proof later on if anything goes wrong.
