Paypal return Address
 

Here is a new one for me.

I have a buyer this morning who has opened a Not as Described Dispute in Paypal. Not EBay.

They have immediately escalated it to a Claim saying the item is damaged.

The case is currently in review. I have not had the opportunity to make any input.

I have only one address on this Paypal account - A stealth address.

I was thinking of adding a second address, unused, unlinked that I could use to accept the return of the item.

If Paypal finds in the buyers favour, will they allow me to select this second address as the return address?

you do not need to add it to PP ... simply send return address to buyer by email .. ask him to return it to that address ...
i do that with my customers with no problem

Already done that through EBay. He's not responding. Hopefully he will return to that address.

That's not the best idea, especially when dealing with @$$hole buyers as I'm assuming the OP is doing.

@OP - I would add the new address to your account. As long as the return hasn't already been shipped then I don't see why you wouldn't be able to select the new return address.

yes add new address!!! Do NOT rely on asshole "scamming buyers" to ship back to corrrect address. They probably won't and you will be out your item and $$.

That's why I have started paying the money and adding street addressing PO boxes to my accounts on the front end. I learned the hard way that an important part of having a good performing account is how well you handle returns. Once I know the return item has been shipped back I just issue a full refund. Doesn't matter if the buyer ships back dirt and sand because 1. The seller hardly ever wins and 2. I now sell lower price items at a decent profit which gives me the ability to eat losses from transactions that do go wrong.
