Hello all,

This question is to some of the experienced stealthers who use LLC's. So i have been using an LLC tax ID to file my taxes for the last 2 years. Business has been great and have been paying the IRS 10s of thousands of dollars both years.

When doing my taxes this year my accountant asked me if my LLC was registered with my state and when i told him no he was in shock. When i got my LLC through the IRS's offical website all i did is put my desired business name (my stealth name) and i believe some personal information.

Am i screwing myself right now because i never officially registered my LLC through the state even tho i strictly sell online. Kind of nervous i am going to get a nasty letter from the IRS.

More likely a nasty-gram from your Secretary of State.

I have no idea what the legal implications are but I know you need to be registered in your state. Otherwise your accountant is submitting state tax returns for a non-existent business.

Does that mean the taxes i paid before where a waste and not credited to my name? I have all paperwork showing i paid my taxes under my llc number for the last 2 years.

I got my LLC from the official irs website. When i received my llc # that didn't register me as anything?

I have to pay $500. Once i fill this form out completely would i be all set?

can anybody with LLC experience help me find the answer to my post above. I want to make sure i didnt pay the IRS and they have no idea what to apply it to. The LLC tax id number is linked to my paypal. I plan on registering my llc now but its $500 and want to make sure im not screwed. Really need help with this.

well at lease you paid. If i was u i would save a few 1000 just in case you get in trouble and need a good lawyer . Register it now.
