Online service to open a bank account while outside the US
 

Hello, does anyone know if there will be an online service to manage the opening of a bank account in any bank or in wells fargo for people who are not residents or who are outside the U.S?

No very unlikely something like this would last, best bet is to see what international banks in your country best work with USA PayPals.

There is no such thing......you want a US Bank Account, you either visit a Branch or try to find a branch of that bank that can try to help you.

Not necessarily, the thing is that some banks will require a foreigner to provide more documents and large amount of $$$ to start the account, very hard but not impossible.

I have opened quite a few accounts with different US banks using my Canadian passport and Drivers ID - being a Canadian is probably easier than international but I am sure that passport and secondary ID from other countries would be acceptable ...but in person

Requirements and options (where you can open it) to open a Bank Account in US (Personal, not business) is like the following:

(what you have/need) : (where you can open it)

SSN and DL : Online and Branch
SSN and PASS : Branch
ITIN and PASS : Branch
ITIN and DL : Branch

Because of the Patriot Act it is almost impossible to open legit account online, especially if you are not resident.
If you go in person they most probably open a bank account for you (Based on my last information - some US small banks are forced to open bank account without SSN and other utter documents, because of the big migrants (latino and mexican workers) wave. However the migrants have to visit a bank branch in person!
