Rookie mistake please help
 

Hi guys made a stupid error today...

When withdrawing from my stealth PayPal i accidentally done it the wrong way round without realising so the funds would be transferred from my saving account to the paypal rather than the other way round.

Instantly rang up paypal to cancel the direct debit instruction and transfered funds to another account. (BUT STILL HAVE £400 PENDING FROM SALES).

I then rung up the bank and asked to close the account which can take 48 hours with HSBC, hopefully it can be done instantly in store will find out now when i go.

I also emptied the saving account incase the transfer still gets through it wont be accepted anyway as not enough funds to complete it.

It normally takes 5-7 days the guy on paypal said to get the funds from bank into my paypal....

so my question is seeing as the direct debit is cancelled and hopefully the saving account will be closed before the weekend. Will my account still get limited? as obviously the funding of funds from saving account will show the bank holders name which is a mis-match to the paypal causing in limitation?

Or is it unlikely paypal will see any info from the bank if the transfer fails from insufficient funds or because the bank is closed?

Any reassurance would be great just hope someone can relieve my stress about this as its a super solid strong account hate to lose it.

The account wont get limited from it

All that will happen is PayPal would remove the bank account from the account telling you that the transfer failed.

Phone back in a few days later and you can re-add the same bank account (if it hadn't been closed)

Its a pretty common mistake but not account ending so don't worry about it :)

I have closed the account to be safe, not to much trouble opening and linking a new saving account.
