Does that have any affect on the payments or purchases I've made in the account?

No it should not affect the completed transactions, it just you cannot use that pp account any more.

What if for some reason buyers of the money I received file claims or something? I know the account is a total loss. My point is I don't want the sellers who I purchased stuff from to be screwed

I am not sure I understand u correctly. If buyer file claim and pp decide to refund the buyer, ur balance will go negative and they will try to collect money from it linked cc or bank account. It won't affect the seller you purchased stuff from since it is considered as a done deal
