Asking for a Tax ID

Hi everyone,

I have a PayPal account that I've been using since 2014, sent and received money on it regularly and it's linked to my eBay account. Everything has been fine but I just received an email from PayPal to add a Tax ID to the account so they don't restrict my access to it. Does anyone know what I can do in this case? (I can't add my real Tax ID to it)

EIN is the way to go.

So I can put all of my real information to create the EIN and it won't cause problems?

EIN is easy as long as you upgrade to a business account

Ah okay, so I just upgrade to PayPal business and enter an EIN that has all the correct information?

Yes thats all you need to do

To be totally honest I would skip that part and make a new account

Unless its a REALLY good account then I would stay but thats rare for me

It's more out of convenience for keeping it because it's been linked to that eBay account for 2 years. Do you recommend switching PayPal accounts for eBay, won't have issues?
