Reusing a failed VCC, did i just link myself?
 

I had a total brain fart and did something very stupid after a long tiring day.

I bought 2 Vanilla VCCs to verify my Paypal accounts, and 1 Visa Debit for regular purchases I was making.

I thought I was holding a Vanilla VCC in my hand, but I was holding the damn visa debit that doesn't work for PP (it was brand new though). I entered it into my paypal account (PP Account #1) to verify and it didn't go through. I realized my mistake.

I put in a working Vanilla VCC and verified PP Account #1.

Then I switched computers to work on Account #2.

I picked up my other Vanilla VCC to verify it.. but I got distracted and picked up the damn Visa debit again and entered it into PP Account #2. It didn't go thru.

But still... does this mean I just linked my accounts?

It actually happened to me in he past - years ago.
Since the card is already associated with one account you get the message telling you that. You then added your proper card. Doesnt necessarily mean youre linked since that card was NOT added to the account. As far as theyre concerned it could possibly be a mistype or whatever.
I wouldnt freak out over it just yet. I myself never saw any adverse impact on the two accounts involved.

Thanks, just needed to know smoeone's experience with this.

I didn't know if they tracked/logged failed numbers. Here's to hoping they don't

they do track it but if u dont do anything else to link the accounts u should be fine. one time i did that and decided to later gift some cash to the account that i did that to and for some reason paypal blocked it where i couldn't send to my own account but i can gift to other accounts. Nothing happned other then that weird block but i would be careful .
