PayPal Verification Help
 

Hi guys! I was wondering if anyone can help me on the PayPal issue. I was suspended from paypal about 4 years ago (for unknown reason). I recently opened a business with a completely new business address and information. However, when I'm trying to sign up with PayPal they are asking for personal information including m personal SSN and address. I'm afraid I will be linked back to the old account if I do that. I thought opening a business does not require putting any personal information.

What do I do now?

Any suggestion would be great help!

If its business info and you are running a legit business then you should be able to get an EIN and use that.

I do have the EIN and provided to them on the setup process. But on the next step they were asking for what type of business and the business holder's name. I provided my name since it's associated with the business incorporator. Then on the very next step it asked me for provide ssn and current address for the name provided. I did provide my business name, EIN, Business address etc on the previous setup process. Then why is it asking me for personal info?

Also, I tried to open a business paypal account on the setup process since I'm running a business Was that a mistake? Should I have opened just a personal account with the EIN?

Just sign up for a personal account. They wont ask for SS number for that. At least unless they get suspicious. Business accounts they always ask for it.

I already am in the middle of signup process. I included my EIN on the process. Should I stop continuing and proceed with the new account?

Nah, give them your EIN again for the SSN.
Then put your business incorporation date + 20yrs as the DOB.

That's how I've got all mine up and running. :thumb:

Now The SSN box has (last 4 digit). Can I put mu last 4 digit of my EIN? Also, as the DOB not sure how it is formatted, but should I substitute my business establishment date instead?

Yes, use the last 4 of your EIN.

The reason I've always done business incorporation date + 20 years is so it doesn't look like a 6 month old baby is trying to setup a business Paypal account. Just be sure to keep a record of whatever DOB you put. You might be asked for it if you ever need to call in, and it doesn't show anywhere in your Paypal profile.

Thanks once again! Hopefully I will be able to pass thru. And for the personal address information can I put my business address information?

Also, If you don't mind me asking you - how long were you been able to do business with this changed information?

Yeah, that works as long as it's not the same info that's on your banned personal account. Went to bed last night - sorry about that.

3+ years and still going strong.

Quick question - can I use my business address as my home address on the personal information? My actual address will link I believe.

Yes, that's what you should do. Or just use some random address. 1099's are sent digitally so there's no real reason to maintain a valid address on Paypal.
