Sick of Paypal..yes again
 

I have over $430 sitting in paypal now over a week. Shipped, received and money released. My account was limited. I bought this account from on the forum. Phone number attached and active. I send in docs and the account was reinstated. I added a new bank account as well. If I try to transfer, I get the "quick security check" and the phone number does not show. I enter one and you guessed it, I get "this number doesn't appear to be registered to you" BS. I try to buy something off ebay or send the money to someone and it won't let me either. I called Paypal and like always, they are useless. "It's a security setting we can't override". WTF am I supposed to do?

Are you using a VPN and do you have a card added? And how old is the PP account?

Its a VPN, yes. The account is two months old. It has a card, a VBA and a real bank.

When PayPal does the whole Phone Number verification it's usually because there is a trust issue, either cookies.....or maybe in this case the VPN.

I'm a using a FREE VPN called Windscribe - I know is risky, thats why i dont have much funds inside the account.

right now $250 is inside right now and each time i try to send money, it brings the '' sorry we can send payment at the moment' it has been like that for days now.

Can this be a VPN issue or because it have not been verify, though, am wanting to buy VBA today. Please Boss, ur advice.

I'm using one from VPS.net. Never had too much of an issue with them. Are SOCKS better?

PayPal can see you are using a VPN.

I spoke with PayPal using a VPN and the guy immeadiately asked if I was using one. I played dumb and managed to convince him.

Be careful. They're getting wise to all these VPN's etc

VPN's are a known problem.

Also had issues during W/D and called PayPal. Just like Pieandmash said above, they asked right away if I was using one. I told them I was accessing from work. PayPal said to disconnect from my work VPN and try again.

Find small VPN company, buy private IP and this will remove 90% problems.
Or find the big company, buy private IP and use it.
This will cost 5-15$ per month but will save your account/time/money.

With mobile phone, you can use only 1 PayPal, or you need lot cheap phones to manage all accounts you have.

How simple do you want me to explain? Do you see a "VPN" in my suggestion? I said mobile IP, NO VPNs, NO ANYTHING. STOP ADDING STUPID STUFF TO MY EPIC SIMPLE SOLUTION.

#1 it is not the VPN. It is the newness of the account and trust. I have a paypal account from September 2015. It allows me to withdraw to my bank without issues, no security checks.

But when I went to send money to another paypal, it took me through the security check with my phone number. This phone number has been on the paypal for over a year. It gave me the message "this number does not appear to be registered to you" And the only reason I can conjure is that it did not trust the paypal I was trying to send money to (still unsure).

EDIT: I feel that whatever paypal has going on is a glitch that will hopefully get fixed. My almost 2 year old paypal is established and had no cause to need a security check.

On a separate note, when empirestate said to use mobile IP, he was not referring to using a mobile phone to login into the ebay or paypal. He was referring to tethering the IP or using a MIFI. This is not an option if you are outside the US.

Yeah, it's seeming like using VPNs (even OpenVPNs/Static IPs) are becoming a problem with them now, especially as of a few days ago. I say this because hardly anything is going through now with payments while on the VPN and I use static IPs (OpenVPNs). Haven't had a problem with sending and receiving payments at all before.

This is like a Super Crackdown.

are you serious dude? why would u even try a free vpn. let it age a week or two then try to spend it and dont use the account anymore. you cant use free vpns unless you want it limited easy.

Nah trust me, it's definitely a super crackdown. Compared to just a few months ago, NEW PP accounts received and made large payments without incident and hardly ANY redflagging.

But now, you can't even receive a simple $160 payment on a new PP account without them crying. Transactions are more restricted than they were. Their security algorithm changed very recently, and that's a fact. Mind you, all of my older accounts are still ace and can receive and send money easily without any problems at all, it's just that most of these new ones now are having problems.

i think it's likely the newness of the account as well. i have 2 accounts about 2 months old and have this issue with each of them, not being able to withdraw without the phone check.

additionally, i use different mac addresses and a mifi with dynamic ip for each account, so dont believe that would solve my issue.

There is some new security for sure, but it has nothing to do with VPN's. Its the same as ISP IP.

Oh, you're sure? You've tried to make a payment/withdrawal on a new account that was made with a a regular ISP Hosted IP and it still gave that annoying "quick security check" phone verification message?

It's probably the VPN giving you the trouble PayPal can see that you're using them.

And you said you sent in docs and got the account reinstated. Did you send in real docs or did you pay for docs to be made to reinstate the account?

I think VPN can be an issue best solution to IP address is changing MAC address if don't have anyone else using ebay in your house, this is the best solution at no cost. Next you have phone tether or dongle. VPNs are a little overrated on here and that's for obvious reasons.
