Dreaded "Provide TAX ID (EIN) or SSN" Paypal E-Mail! How do I apply for EIN?

I went to apply for EIN on the irs.gov website and I am being charged $175 to do so!

Why is it charging me? I don't want to pay money to register an EIN wth?

I went on IRS.gov and got a Employer ID Number

PayPal is prompting me to turn my paypal into a business account.

is this smart, is this ok?

if i do this will it screw me?

obviously the account is under a stealth name and address..

someone quick i'm scared paypal is goin to pull the plug on me soon.

well i ended up providing the last four of the tax id and kept all the stealth information the same.

the only thing i'm worried about is, is paypal going to send information over to this "stealth" address?

It's the actual address of the person living there..

PP doesn't send a 1099 through the mail, so no worries there.
