paypal problem - credit card payments, upgrade to business
 

Hello I just received this email from paypal (I sold book on Ebay)

I checked my paypal account and payment is on hold. I know it is normal on new paypal account...

But I want to ask you if I really need to upgrade my paypal account to "premier or business account" because I have another personal paypal where I´m receiving payments from my other ebay account and I did not receive this message from paypal.

If you want to take credit card payments then yes

If you don't want to take credit card payments then you wont need to upgrade

Its possible that older accounts made a few years ago can take those payments without upgrading (I am not sure how it works in the US though so I would have to wait for others to chip in)

Thank you I have linked paypal in my ebay account so I´m accepting only paypal payments? User can pay with card but paypal should handle it and reflect it in fee? Or I don´t know how it works now...

I just want to know if I can leave it as it is and if will this payment hold dissapear or I need to upgrade it.

Your really limiting yourself if you don't take card payments. A lot of people do pay that way.

I don't really see the harm in upgrading to a Premier account personally (but again I am used to UK accounts and all the accounts here are Premier accounts by default!)
