Paypal and model records
 

Hello all, I have a very interesting case.

I am a distributor of vintage adult DVDs. these movies were made before July 1995, so I am exempt from keeping model releases and proof of ages per 2257 refs. Paypal froze my account last week, and is asking for proof, things that because they were made before 1995 I am not required to have! The aup dept keeps asking for this, and won't take no for an answer.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Dealing with the average paypal rep is going to get you nowhere in these circumstances.

If you have a special case, you need to speak with a high up supervisor/manager which can be difficult to get ahold of. Even if you do, they don't want to put the time in for specific cases. This is going to require lots of time and luck on your end. Consider going stealth in the meantime

luckily i found a manager yesterday, who agreed that anything made before July 95 was exempt from 2257 regs. so he is talking to the AUP dept (the people that limited my account)

Update: Paypal still will not budge. This Sucks!

You are not likely to ever get Paypal to budge at this point. Just go stealth. Create multiple accounts and stay under the radar. You likely ended up in this situation because of a manual review. Spreading your sales around should help avoid such reviews.
