What gift card works with PAYPAL buyer (Not selling)
 

So I'm buying items and since my paypal is limited I need to link a gift card with paypal to make a purchase (stealth buyer account). Seller only accepts paypal (not direct cc) so is there any gift card that will do this?

I know vanilla card doesn't work as it just provides zip.

Why wouldn't the Vanilla work? Register it to your zip then it will confirm any address in that zip.

it doesn't work when signing up with paypal initially. i think paypal requires address that matches address not just zip code

There isn't any gift card you can register to an exact address. Only reloadable "prepaid" debit cards.

But, Vanilla cards have always worked fine for me for both creating accounts and buying. Register the card to a zip code, then it will pass AVS for any address in that zip code. They don't have anything special to further look into your card's address - they rely on AVS. Recently though Paypal is recognizing Prepaid cards by the BIN.

EDIT: Maybe they aren't allowing them on signup anymore but historically they've always worked for me.

There is one.....You can even register an International address I believe.

I got 3 cards (amex, visa, and mastercard) that was able to put in your address and register and was not reloadable. I did try one to register with paypal but didn't work so that's why ask if there is specific one.


That's odd that your vanilla card worked fine.. Just wondering what i'm doing wrong. i did put stealth address etc.. all the ways of stealth as well.

guess ill have to try few more times...

But what I do is I have a ebay account that made successful purchases.. then came across an item that requires paypal and then i signed up and put in a new vanilla card that had zip code but paypal wouldn't let me pass that stage..

So basically was able to register for paypal and link my vanilla card. Then when i went to checkout and login to my paypal and pay for item (seller accepts only paypal)

I get this error

Unfortunately, we can't process your payment. Here are your options:
Check out with another PayPal method, like the one we're showing now.
Select a different payment option.

So i guess registering vanilla card seems to work, but paying for it afterwards didn't..

Any thoughts?

Your PP account is LIMITED.

Link all the cards you want. It's still LIMITED.

dallis is correct if the pp is limited - don't waste more cards or banks on this account unless you get it reinstated

I don't understand. Why are you trying to link anything into a paypal that's limited?

If you want to buy stuff, just open a new account...

Try this...

Go back to eBay and try using guest checkout. Don't login to your Paypal. Choose to pay without a Paypal account and put in your prepaid card number there. The payment is still processed by Paypal but you won't be trying to pay with a limited account.

Point taken - sorry for the misinformation. I really wish I could find those. Best we have around here is the 3x $20 Vanilla's.. :(

This was stealth account not under my name. And didn't work that is what I was referring to.

Yeah I forgot to mention this was a stealth buyer account. I was able to make purchases that didn't just require paypal but when items that did require paypal that is when I wasn't able to . So it's strange I'm able to make purchases (made 12 purchases that is all done) then did paypal and it didn't work. (with vanilla card and same zip code)

This was stealth account, some items seller sell only require paypal

I sure noticed they recognized mine. My vanilla is is titled 'prepaid' in wallet.

How about yours? Does everyone else have this?

We'll use avs, check zip only..go ahead n register a full account, lift your limits.. but we use avs FULL address verification to link a debit..

Sounds like ppal has recognized and is fully aware of which accts are stealth accts without a human, obviously. I guess there's nothing to worry about though..

Pretty much any gift card works for buying besides store giftcards like (Applebee's gift card/McDonald's gift card). Visa, Amex, mastercard prepaid cards all work no problem.
