Withdraw funds from your Paypal account to your debit card in U.S.

Has anyone tried this yet? It says on U.S. Paypal accounts you can withdraw to your bank account using your debit card and it takes 30 mins and costs 25 cents.

Usually if you have a debit card like on some apps , you don't even need to add the bank account as it links it automatically.

So the withdrawal will go straight to your bank account per the Debit card info.

Re: Withdraw funds from your Paypal account to your debit card in U.S.

As far as I know if you have a bank acct linked to your ppal and your bank debit card is eligible (however you find this out) I think you have to link the debit card to your ppal. I think the mailing address on your banking acct must match your ppal. Avs?

Right now I am thinking of changing the mailing address on my bank acct to the stealth address of my ppal..not sure if that will be a problem with the bank..

I don't know if the names on the accounts also have to match. Avs only checks for address match.

Would really like to have instant withdraw.

Bank won't allow it. Patriot act requires them to maintain accurate identification information for all customers. Also makes it illegal for you to give them inaccurate info.

I guess this is useful for people who need their PP funds very quickly but as far as I can tell it's useless as a stealth tool since you have to already have the bank account attached.

The stealth address is a real address.

Understandable. There's alot of threads here with advice about 'adding, changing bank account addresses to the stealth address for debit and credit cards in order to pass avs. For example a p.o. box.

I have prepay debits with old mailing addresses that I never updated to my new address because I still get mail at the old address and the card issuers/banks knew I moved and didn't care of it.

Just wanna be sure you didn't miss understand this.

Re: Withdraw funds from your Paypal account to your debit card in U.S.

I've heard about people changing their address on debit/credit card temporarily but I don't think that's the same think as changing the address on your bank account. How is it a real address if it's a stealth address? Did you move and file a change of address with USPS? That would be the only way for the address to match up with your name in public records and the postal database.

Whenever I moved last year Wells Fargo made me come into a branch and update my address with them because a statement they had sent me in the mail was returned to them. USPS can't forward anything bank related so I had to actually go in and show proof of my new address.

If Ppal only does a one time initial check when linking the debit card.. or will ppal check info again at a later time?

So you need both your bank account and debit card attatched to that bank account linked to your Paypal account in order for this to work?

You'll need the Bank account in PP for verification / limit withdraw.

And I don't think they have an option to withdraw to a debit card.

Withdrawals to "eligible" debit cards is now being offered on most of my USA Paypal's. I'm assuming it's a new feature they're slowly rolling out to everybody.

As far as I can tell though, you DO need to have the bank account associated with the debit card already attached. They're advertising the "debit card withdrawal" feature as a way to get your withdrawals within minutes rather than having to wait until the next day with a bank withdrawal.

A bank won't let you knowingly use the wrong address on your bank account.

And your bank account is attached to your credit file. Imagine the mess that would make.

Don't give your bank false info, period. Doing so could land you in some trouble.

Re: Withdraw funds from your Paypal account to your debit card in U.S.

My bank is already attached. It's my banks debit card that must be linked in order for instant withdraw, to be clear.

When I opened up at a chase branch I gave them my new address but did not match up due to no record on my credit profile, so I was forced to give them the old address I didn't even live at anymore and was accepted. Week later while I'm in a branch I then updated to my new address without problem.

I've changed addresses with reloadable network debits on the fly w/o problem..

Online banking provides the option to update address..although I haven't.

QUESTION IS: If ppal checks the address via avs at any time in the future once a person has linked an eligible card by doing a temp address change with the bank and next day link the card then change the address back.:noidea::redface:

Re: Withdraw funds from your Paypal account to your debit card in U.S.

You can usually change the address easily on most reloadable and prepaid cards.

I think that would work for the bank debit card as well, but don't know for sure. If you have to try it it would be great if you would come back and tell us if it worked. :)

There are ways to make this work without changing your bank information. I won't broadcast it though. But, i can verify it does work

The feature is now rolling out on business accounts. Saw it for the first time this morning on a business account.

Yes. But only if the feature is available to you on your PP account. It's not sitewide at this point. If it's available to you, you won't be able to miss all the "withdraw in 30 minutes to your card for $.25!" messages everywhere.

I wish people would stop saying this. The whole purpose of this thread is to discuss the NEW card withdrawal feature being made available to USA accounts.

I have a new paypal business account. (1 month old) I didn't see an instant transfer option on my "withdraw to" options until this week. Last night I tried an instant transfer and I got an error message on the screen that said "Sorry, we're not able to process your request. Please try again later." So I tried it again this morning when I woke up and I got the same error. I'm on the phone with pp right now trying to find out the problem.

I'm just guessing, but it could have something to do with the age of your account.

Either that or they're still working out glitches with the system, since it's still brand new on business accounts.

Who knows. I'm interested to hear what they have to say since you're calling in.

Just got off the phone with somebody and they said they couldn't see an error message on their side. Then when I tried a transfer while I was still on the call the person said they would have to submit a support ticket about the issue. You're probably right about the glitches. I'll try again later.

Will this still show as "processing" on the bank side until the end of the business day?

On my legit account, it completes within 15-20 minutes on the Paypal side, doing a regular bank withdrawal, but takes until the next business day to show as processed. I'm just curious of the benefits of it.

I got it on my business account yesterday. I didn't use it though as I am waiting for it to be widely tested.
