problems getting check account for paypal use ?need credit report

I have been trying to get a few checking accounts recently for back-up purposes. I know some of these sneaky banks do hard credit pulls and mark your credit history.

A couple of days ago I went over to open a Chase checking account. The system turned me down but the banker overrode it after asking me if I owe any banks any money. I said no, I might owe some companies some money but not banks. So after that they overrode the system and opened the accounts for me.

So today I went to Capital One. The lady there was pretty unfriendly from the start. I asked if they do a hard or a soft credit pull or just chexsystems before we started. She said just chexsystems even though she looked like she didn't know what she was talking about. So they started going through their software which I couldn't really see exactly what was on the screen. I did manage to see that on one part of the screen my name was in about 7-8 rows like inquiries or something. Then they refused to open checking accounts for me. I asked why and they said they will not tell me why.

I should have a clear Chexsystems. I was wondering what are those lines with my name in front of each one. Was it a credit report that I saw? Does anyone know if Capital One uses only chexsystems or some scheisty software that runs your credit?

If it was a chexsystems file, did it have a list of all my checking accounts at other banks?

I've been previously a few years ago been denied a Capital One credit card by the way but I don't think it has anything to do with what happened today.

Been denied ING accounts as well. As far as I remember they run credit history though.

If you open too many bank accounts in a short period of time you are tagged on chexsystems as a potential money launderer. What you should do is get your chexsystems report in the mail and check what is on it. Check that & you should work out answers.

what's the fastest you would say one can safely open new accounts? Is 2 a week too fast?

This past week I tried 4 a week, maybe that's what the problem was.

to open a joint account under thier name and yours.
