First paypal sale 500$ limitations
 

Do you get 21day hold as soon as you sell your first item either on ebay or anywhere.
I sold my laptop on ebay for $475 and my account got 21day hold abour 30min later but in between I bought myself a charger from ebay. So do you guys have the same case. Do you get 21day hold right away or few hours later, days or never.

It is not a limitation, 21 days hold is standard for a "young" PayPal account and sometimes it comes back even on more aged accounts.

They want to be sure you do not run away with the money... it's for buyer protection (and themself)

Pretty standard hold - and always dangerous to sell a laptop as first sale....even when the hold comes off, don't withdraw all the money - be smart OP...read more posts here

Those holds are standard for all new sellers on ebay.
The minimum requirements to remove the 21 days hold:
1. 90 days from first sale.
2. 25 successful transactions.
3. At least $250 in total sales.
And those are 'minimum' requirements only. No guarantee the holds will be removed once those are met.

actually I have new pp accounts . when someone is paying creditcard thru pp there is no 21 hold if from pp balance then 21 hold. this what is happening to my daily .soe are hold and some not

Yes but do you get that hold right away automaticly you know like robot automaticly inside few seconds did it or you get it like in a hour (so probably it's done manually by human)

Holds depend and differ between all accounts.

But i cant wait. I need to sell it and buy something i found on ebay so if there is that 20min timeframe for getting hold i would buy smth from ebay as i need it

Pffttt.. if the PayPal is aged, if the eBay is old,it might happen.

New accounts, and “my phone” might create troubles.

PayPal wants trust and if they do not perceive trust, limitations follows.

That's good to hear.

21 day holds were introduced to stop that very activity.

If the account is new and you sell a phone on it then you will very likely get limited.

Selling your phone elsewhere would be the best option.

So i will get limitation right away, not being able to buy from ebay
I ask beacuse i had my account and it was really new like one week. And i was able to buy inside 20min after selling my laptop

What happens with one Paypal does not guarantee the same will happen to another.

Nobody on here can tell you what will happen for certain.

You either take the risk and go for it or sell the phone elsewhere.

If you need your money right away, don't even bother to put it on Ebay- when you sell a phone on a new account, that's already high risk. Rush things and you're going to be waiting 180 days before you see any money.

The only time you should ever "rush" ANYTHING is the dispatching the item to the post office after payment. Anything else and the likelihood of issues quadruples.
