I have an issue with a "pending" payment but it is not the usual issue.
I believe the eBay buyer is one of the scammers and they have sent me the emails saying "please friend and send the item before"
Lots of other nonsense similar to that.
The issue I have is that it says "pending' in Paypal with the instruction NOT to send the item until the payment clears.
The problem I have is that it has been "pending" for almost 2 weeks now.
Both eBay and Paypal customer support are pretty much useless.
I want to file a "non payment" for this item allowing me to end the transaction and to give this buyer a strike.
I can cancel it now with the "cancel order" at "buyers request" but with this I run the risk of them leaving a silly feedback comment.
The buyer has zero feedback, registered only two weeks ago and speaks in that strange and obvious way you associate with the scammers.
What would be your advice on how to close this with the minimum of hassle and recover the selling fees which are quite high!
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
The pending payment means it's under review likely because there were some inconsistencies from the buyers site (i.e. they recenty changed their acct info, ship to address, etc).
You just need to wait for PayPal to ccomplete their review and they will let you know if it's safe to ship your item or not. Don't do anything until then.
I think you need to call Paypal before the buyer leaves bad feedback for not shipping the order.
This type of payment review is perfectly normal but it always says "this may take 48-72 hours to complete". The payment is supposed to either be released to you or returned to the buyer within 3 days. Something has gone wrong if you've been waiting for two weeks.
It clearly says in Paypal 'this payment is pending'
Never had one of these before.
I assume the bank details are false or something and its just stuck on pending and hasn't ended.
How long do I have to do something before the fees are lost? Is it 30 days?
eBay customer services sucked on this one. They came out with lots of nonsense about how there is something wrong with my Paypal account which there clearly is not.
This is a scammer, 100% and im just stuck with the best course of action to get it dealt with.
I have one too, but it's an echeck. My thinking is, they either but a stolen paypal or issued the echeck, knowing it won't clear with the hopes I would ship the item anyway.
Nope, you should know better not to ship anything until the payment is cleared and there is nothing "funny" going on with it.
I had one buyer a couple years back that tried to trick me by sending me a spoof email that looked like it came from PayPal that the payment was received. Of course I didn't fall for that trick either.
