My bank (Wells Fargo) confirmed the ACH code they use on that pull is the same as a normal debit pull. They use a third party called Fiserv that sends ACH messages back to the Merchant Processor (in this case PayPal) along with the account name/type and other info.
That said, even if they see the name doesn't match, there's a chance PP might not limit you based on that alone, but they may be aware of it when doing a manual review.
Again, this applies to the USA Automated Clearing House (ACH) system. Not sure about if this applies to the EU or not. |
