Verified paypal account question?
 

If i buy a verified paypal account and make a shopify store will the 21 day hold on my money be lifted? 21 days is a lot of time to keep someones money.

There seems to be some confusion with the word "verified", verified doesn't equal "No 21 day holds". And if you ship items with tracking you can get the money sooner than 21 days.

How much sooner? Do they keep your money in general for 21 days. Even with a business paypal account?

PayPal want trust in accounts.

Sooner that happens, sooner funds get released.
If you despatch quickly, inform PayPal, funds do get released.

Are you drop-shopping by chance?

Yes. DO they hold the funds for 21 days as a standard or only when there is a chargeback

It is a standard hold on new accounts or accounts that behave differently from a well established path.

On any new Account the 21 day holds are automatically applied, like i said already....IF you ship the items with tracking, you get the money sooner than 21 days, if not then you have to wait the full 21 days.

The payment holds would be worse on a new business account. Payments on new business accounts are held for a full 21 days once you pass a certain predetermined "release amount". Uploading tracking wouldn't make any difference like it would on a personal account. As a dropshipper you would be given an impossibly low release amount.

To give yourself a fighting chance you would need to start with a personal account. For the best results you need to sell and ship things yourself for the first couple of weeks until you start getting instant payments. Only once you have instant access to funds should you consider dropshipping.

Taking shortcuts and trying to buy an account without payment holds isn't going to help you. It would cause you to be careless with the account (if you did find one), where you'd probably be more careful with an established account you built up yourself. :nerd:

Can i use a personal account on Shopify. It says there express checkout is that the business side of paypal? I can`t ship them because i`m buying them from aliexpress so i don`t own them i don`t even know yet what to sell. Is skrill by any chance better or you don`t know

I think you're going to find that the 21 day hold is the norm.

Ship the same or next day, input the tracking immediately, the hold will fall off a few days after delivery, pretty soon it will go away if you don't have any issues.

Or you could attach an established PP account to your Shopify store.

Frankly, the odds are high you're not going to sell all that much on your website the first several months to a year anyway, so it's not going to be that much of a problem.

I was thrilled to sell 5 items in my first six weeks of my website. :)

The paypla express checkout wich i can use to connect to my shopify is a different paypal account? Or is it the same. I want to use my own name on my store not create a fresh one and use that one. I have this one for about 3 years and done approximately 10 transactions.Does that count as an old account that is verified?

If you still have holds, the time or transactions are not enough. There are many factors involved. Just get through it. We all face this. There's very little you can do about it.

I want to try shopify first then ebay do they still keep 21 day hold for shopify? I know its ebay forum but i was hopeing that someone knows from here
