Accounts linked how?!
 

Need some clarity... PayPal have linked a stealth account to my non stealth (family members) but I’ve no clue how. I know they do extra checks over Xmas which is when I’m assuming they took a closer look.
I was using a different device with no cross over. The only thing that was the same was the sort code, as I used the same bank for both accounts. Will they link using this info?? Email address were also rather similar. I thought possible MAC address as I was hot stopping one device on both accounts carefully a while back but someone said MAC address is not tracked.
I’m just worried to move onto the next account without this info!

Two Paypal accounts CANNOT be linked due to using the same bank sort code on them. You will have cocked it up in a far more basic way. What about the addresses used for both accounts? Also the names? What about IP address? Can you confidently rule that out?

Personally, my money is on this. Did you use multiple user accounts or portable browsers?

Nope. 8 bought the stealth on here and the other non stealth was a family members. I’ve been on a brand new clean device on the non stealth for ages now. It’s not impossible that I could have ****ed up when I was hot spotting the other device. I can’t see how really as when I was using said device for the stealth it was on a SIM card not hot spot. I’m very p’d off that I’ve ruined a non stealth account some how :( though at least I can take them to a small claims court for my £1000 in it back!

How do you know they were linked? Did the email say this?

When I go into the non stealth it says resolve issue by providing ID and resolving issue (limitation) on account ‘xxx’ and it gives the stealth account. I think the email I got said ‘your account shares one piece of information with another account with issues’ - I cannot even think what this one piece of info is tbh

Probably something very simple you have overlooked, its impossible to know for sure as an outsider though.

Maybe I buggered up when I was hot spotting. I really don’t know. I did hot spot my Mac on both accounts (I presume) without changing the user account. Painnnnn. - I have another non stealth to use going forward with a brand new device, I’m just scared half to death to run it incase i **** something up!
