What to do next: Paypal Limited but eBay in good standing

Thank you to those who can help.

The eBay account has over 3000 positive feedbacks and I would hate to lose it over this.

Essentially I got flagged for a men's over the counter supplement, with PP stating that it's prescription outside of the US (I had the global shipping program activated but never sold any outside of the US anyway).

Just an fyi, manufacture itself markets these as over the counter in the USA.

I remove the listing from eBay and do the Review and Affidavit via PayPal and yet the limitation is still active (4 days ago)

I then send an email apologizing for my actions and that I will learn from my mistakes (tonight)

What are my chances of saving this account?

If that is not an option, can I create another PayPal account and slowly ramp it up and then piggy back onto the eBay account?

Its a flip of a coin with paypal. They don't apply logic or reason. If i was you i'd make a few stealth accounts and spread your sales so in future they can't kill you completely.

With your current ebay if paypal don't give you it back. Change email/ address on ebay to a new one that matches a new (but different to current) paypal account. And take it slow with sales for. Take everything slowly or they will hit you again.

You can either transition to a new PP account and hope for the best or get a merchant account and add it to your eBay account. Accepting merchant account payments only will drive away most of your customers but it's better than waiting for Paypal to catch on and shut down your new PP account.

Welcome to the forums - all the best as you master stealth :thumb:

Piggy backing a new pp on the old eb account could lead to limitation on that pp sooner or later - not a great longterm plan.

Thank you everyone for the advise.

With PP being unreliable, I'll walk both paths and use authorize.net first to get some cash flow while prepping a new PP account(s)

I recommend that exact strategy. :)

Frankly, if you're selling 'supplements' EB's going to decide to give you the boot too.

I'd imagine that PP links are mostly related to to user ID strings given upon account creation, and not emails/usernames/things that can be changed.

Supplements are something new I implemented this past year as I usually focus on OTC meds and never had an issue. If that's the way the wind is blowing nowadays, I'll remove the supplements entirely.

Can you clarify a bit further please?

Yeah, all I'm saying is that usernames/emails etc are typically only secondary identifiers, and that eB/PP will mostly rely on your user ID when it comes to linking accounts.

For example, on Aspkin, amg4me's UID might be 2094, and Kirkland's might be 4460. If Kirkland changes his name to Derpland, his UID will still be 4460.

User ID's are not public and mostly serverside architecture. Point is, the link will always be there. It's a question of whether they care enough to catch you and do something about it. Some people get booted after a day, some are able to survive on a second linked account in perpetuity. But not a good idea to build your business on a second linked account. E.g., its not a long term strategy, even if it may help you right now.

^^For the record, both your eBay and Paypal user ID are public. eBay user ID is on your eBay fees invoices, Paypal user ID is in your account settings.
