finally told i can withdraw money BUT
 

so the last few weeks i've been working on getting money from a stealth account. I never had any 180 day email although it's long overdue. So I tweeted, filled out the complaint form and even lodged a complaint with FOS last week. I just noticed that on XMAS day I got a secure messaged from paypal basically saying '180 days is up and I can transfer my money if i have no complaints' Log in, click transfer money near the top of the page etc'...

I got excited and tried to withdraw but it just says i'm still limited blah blah. Where is the 'transfer money' option and is this different from the usual withdraw?!?!

The problem here will be that the 180 days only starts after you get the email

How long ago was your account limited?

It was well over 180 days ago, this message is saying that 180 days is up and so I can now withdraw. I'm assuming its from the complaints team, as 3 days prior I had an automated email saying my complaint was with them. I will copy and paste the email, one sec

Right with you.

You may well need to phone them in that case. It happens pretty often when it comes to withdrawing after the 180 days

paypal has made withdrawing funds very hard now. I have accounts from three years ago I still cant withdraw from because they removed bank accounts upon limitation and wont allow me to add bank accounts and when I request checks, they never show up. This is rare but it is more and more common place

THIS IS THE EMAIL - IS THERE A DIFFERENT OPTION TO WITHDRAW? I CANNOT FIND A TRANSFER BUTTON...

As 180 days or more have passed since your account was limited, we’re contacting you to help you withdraw your account balance. If you don’t have any open buyer complaints, you can withdraw money to your bank account.

Here’s how:

Go to www.paypal.com/uk and log in to your account.
Click Transfer Money near the top of the page.
Select where you're transferring the money from, and then select to where you're transferring the money.
Choose an amount you want to transfer.
Click Continue.
Review your request, and then click Transfer.
Your money will usually take up to 2 hours to appear in your bank account.

Please make sure your bank account information is correct before attempting to withdraw money from your PayPal account. For example, if your name is James Patrick Smith, but your bank account is in the name of 'J P Smith,' you would need to enter 'J P' as your first name when adding the bank account to your PayPal account.

The thing that is throwing me off is this transfer money thing they're talking about... never seen that option before and I can't now!!

Its the new PayPal interface. Its been that way for a while now :)

Its 'transferring' funds form your PayPal to your bank account as oppose to withdrawing them now.

No idea why!

Have you got a bank account linked to the PayPal still or did they remove it when the account got limited?

I logged in on my laptop and it just says 'withdraw' money. Looks the same as it did before. Yeah bank account is still there. Just when I click withdraw it says same same. Do you think trying on a phone might make a diff?

They have zero right to question your gender on the phone, especially in todays messed up transgender issues.

I in real life have a female name. Never once in my 37 years have I been questioned as a male with a female name, ANYWHERE on the phone. Banks, credit cards, government agencies, etc....

dont pretend to be anything......If they ask you what your name is, you give them your stealth name. They by law CAN NOT question your gender on the phone. I mean, can they tell you that you sound black? or Irish? Chinese? Of course not. It is against the law of practicality all sophisticated modern democracies.

Get you but doesn't stop them being ****s though right? So close, then I call and in the background they're like, def something dodge, so no money being released without ID!
I'm just scared haha. Why can't I be a man... on this one occasion...pahaha

Acting nervous or dishonest is a problem. The sound of your voice is not. Also, you cant be re limited.....

It's not that... obv they've sent me and email saying basically I can have the money. So if I call up being a woman, the operator might be like, no actually we want ID and so i'm back to square one :)

It does not work that way. They CAN NOT question your voice.....You clearly are not listening to me or James. I even gave you my real life story of 37 years....
