Apple pay/Android Pay etc

I'm pretty sure there's been similar posts before but do people think in the next few years paypal will cease to have the monopoly?
I can tell from here lots of people seem to l enjoy stealth but personally for me i'm less keen for loads of reasons including the difficulties people are not having withdrawing funds after 180 days. I'm not a massive seller and certainly don't sell anywhere near the numbers of people on here, so for me having a couple of hundred trapped in multiple accounts is a pain in the arse.

Therefore, I would LOVE this not the be the absolute bane of my life...

I did read an article about apple pay and android and that it was noted that the current system of using paypal with eBay is not user friendly in that you have to physically log into paypal to make a payment etc, so in moving with the times mobile platforms would need to be considered by eBay.

What are your thoughts? Are we doomed forever?

paypal is still growing. They dont seem to be going anywhere in the next decade anyways.

eBay could give more user options for payment though like apple pay etc... or would they do that and still require a seller to offer paypal as well as apple pay etc.

The mind boggles

in the USA, you can simply use a merchant account and not accept paypal. Problem is ebay buyers want to use paypal and you will loose 80% or so of your potential buyers.

Seems at this point, & IMO, eBay is dragging the chain regarding varying up payment options.

UK eBay lumbers sellers with sodding PayPal.

Sighs.
