Setting Up New PayPal Stealth Account - Bank Account Issue
 

Hi All,

I’ve opened many stealth accounts and followed the stealth book to the “T” however something purculiur happened to me today I set up a new user on my MacBook, purchased new iP from ipburger, set up new gmail account and proceeded to PayPal to open a business account, I then proceeded with inputing stealth details and account was opened now to lift my limits I added my vcc which went through fine I then proceeded to bank account & I got an error message that we are unable to add your bank account please try again at a later date. So I called PayPal the CS stated she needed to verify through nexus which is part of experian in the UK and I agreed to this but then she’s comes back and says their are no security questions being asked through nexus and then asked me to call back tomorrow as the relavant department is closed. Has anyone ever had issues adding a bank account and what’s this nexus about?

Was it a new bank account, never used before on paypal?

Hi Yes Of course new bank account opened Monday this week.

In the US if you establish a bank account online, the account may show as 'open' but not really have passed all the bank checks yet, and they can be closed pretty quickly if a manual review finds an issue.

Maybe that's what's going on here, maybe it shows as 'open' but isn't really active yet.

It’s a UK bank account and all checks are done prior to opening so I’m sure it can’t be that I’m going to call PayPal tomorrow to find out what’s going on.

All sorted people just thought I’d update the thread just so if anyone else has any issues it’s to do with some banks like Santander the PayPal system picks up errors with the bank details which prevents you from adding bank account but the quick fix is to just call PayPal and provide them the bank details and they will add this manually.

Also PayPal have now started verifying accounts through nexus which is a experian credit referencing company to verify names and address although I don’t how this will work as names are made up and therefore if cross checked with experian they will not have any info on that name as it’s made up, not sure if experian will show who currently resides at the address which could be a problem, this only applies to UK accounts.
