Claim money or transfer to bank?

Ran into something new with one of my newer accts this morning

I made my first sale on the acct a few days ago. When I logged into the PayPal, it showed the available balance as 4.55 and right under it said "Claim your money now". When I clicked on it, it gave me the option to "transfer to bank acct" or "leave money in paypal". When I clicked leave money in paypal, it brought me to a place that asked to confirm identity. It asked to confirm name and address and asked me to provide DOB and last 4 digits of SSN. I entered 4 random numbers and tried to confirm, and "was unable to confirm identity".

:noidea: This is a new one for me, anyone else have any experience with this?

As always, thanks for your time!

I guess what I'm trying to ask, has anyone had this happen and continued to have success selling on the account for an extended period of time without "confirming identity" with PayPal?

What country did you sign up with? How long did you have the account? Are you receiving it through a website?

The last time I saw this was a number of years back, I had input an incorrect email payment address, and so it wouldn't credit.

Don't know if it applies here, but double check everything and be sure it all aligns correctly.

Naw that's not it. But I appreciate ur advice. There was no issue receiving the payment. It was only like $7 and there was no hold on the funds. I shipped the item using my paypal balance with no issue. Then 2 days later I just happened to log in to PayPal and saw what I described in the OP. But still as of now, I haven't received any email or notice from PayPal that there are any issues or limitations on the account. I was able to receive payment, purchase (shipping label), and transfer $4 to a debit card. So I'm not sure if it's some kind of glitch or if it's something that we will start to see happening in the future. But I've had 100's of accounts and this is my 1st time encountering this. I was jw if anyone else has. :coffee:

You left those details out....

Maybe it's just a glitch. I don't see as you have any choice at the moment but to proceed as if things are fine, but slowly.

Keep an eye on your emails and the dashboard until you see something change.

Its is possible yes, but it does depend on the volume your trading at.

Trade low volumes your unlikely to get any requests like that.

Medium to large volumes and you are going to get requests

Just want to bump that i'm also getting this on a couple of accounts. It's a pain because I usually use my paypal balance to pay my fees, now I have to use a vcc ughh.

Have you tried to just withdraw it to your bank account?
I also suggest making a new thread since this is a very old one.
