Cashing paypal check -
 

I have a limited paypal account - the only way I can get money out is by sending a check. Unfortunately, the name of the account is not mine (I made it up, but the money is mine!). Can I sign the check with the name it is under and then cash it myself?

You'll have to find a bank that accepts 3rd party checks. Not many do.

Just double endorse the check and stick it in the ATM. I have done that a few times and it worked.

I remember someone on here saying getting a doing business as in the name you are selling.

DBA will work fine. But if the DBA issue date happens to be AFTER the date on the check, it might get noticed and questioned. If his check hasn't been issued yet, and the amount is substantial, it may be worthwhile to get the DBA quickly.

Ok, So I looked this up elsewhere. Can I write on the check "pay to the order of", write my name, and then sign it with the paypal account name, then sign it with my name below that? Would this work?

If you go that route, it should look like this:

signature of person check is made payable to (..... name)
Pay only to <name of person depositing check> (this name should not be in cursive, just write it like you're in 2nd grade - print it)
signature of depositor (real name)

And stick it ib the ATM, so they are less likely to hold it.:humble:
