They really should accept the card but off the top of my head I don't know if they do

You may well want to still add in a bank account or a VBA though to be safe as really that is what makes an account a lot stronger

Well, that makes sense. You could use it to purchase 3/4 visa cards, though, then you're good for several different verifications. And you can still spend those later. :)

You may want to include the BIN (first 6 digits of the card) because there are many different AmEx cards

If it’s the birthday branded ones, they should work. I’ve used them before without issue.
