will i get kicked off or limited if i do not supply them with ssn?
 

so i have this paypal account and they are wanting more info from me. what if i call them and tell them i am not comfortable with that having everything about me like that? would that work? idk. also, this a business account and are asking to confirm the identity... here is what they wrote

what if i cannot get that info? i want to keep the account if i can but i do not have an SSN. plus its a business account. they have the EIN already.

any thoughts or help on this matter would be appreciated.

Since there is an EIN on file already, this notice is a bit more serious than usual.

Are you aware of anything you did with the account?

nothing abnormal on there. i receieved the notice back in december. the account is 4-5 years old too. im not sure what triggered it but is it pretty much done? or is there any way to save it? should i email them?

almost always when you call in, they want ONE piece of information. Like a tracking number from a specific order or where one item came from. Almost never do they insist on a SS. In my experience when they do, the account is toast.

Calling in is the best option here.

No SSN? Are you not a US citizen? How did you get an EIN? Your flag says US.

Paypal can't find out your SSN from just your EIN right?

But do not think of supplying wonky numbers. They want the real/proper lnumbers.

laugh all you want but some people refuse to give out that information online. people are still weirded out by everything online and information security. i see this happening and might call them and explain to them that they already have the necessary information. i have been a valued customer of thiers for years under that account. im a top rated seller with over 5000 feedback on ebay. 99.5% 40-60k in sales each year...i will take my business elsewhere since ebay is cutting ties with paypal. i will get on board with the compitition then. at least i wont lose my ebay account over this like before. it is just paypal...

If you lose paypal, you might as well lose the ebay account too. Unless you're in one of those weird niches where people will pay through other means.
