hi iam having trouble adding a bank acct to paypal.pay pal wants to verify with phone . paypal says tracfone number must match name on pp acct.acct is steath.any ideahs?

They want the tracfone registered NAME to match the name on PP?
the hell... that's new to me. Is it possible to give them a different number like say from a google voice?

How old is the account? was this the number used when it was created? or was it added recently?

So? Just register the Tracphone account with the same name as the EB & PP account, they give you an option to input your info when you register the phone or to use no info at all. It's a prepaid phone so you don't need to add a credit card or anything to it.

That's what I used to do. Unless it's changed somehow it should still work.

sloker different phone number then one i made acct with. trac fhone i called trac phone and told them to put phone in my steath name and they did

When was this phone added to the paypal account?
And changing the name has nothing to do with this.

It often takes a while for a new phone number to be synched with the PP or EB account, sometimes up to 30 days if I recall correctly.

It's going to be several weeks, maybe months, before they let you use the new phone for verification regardless of who you register the tracfone to. It's discussed frequently here. Paypal does this so hackers can't add a Tracfone to a stolen account and assume control within an hour.

When I got it to work I waited at least 4 months, though it may have been an option sooner. I had given up then logged in one day and tried for the fun of it, and the new # was there.

I don't know if there's a set time (probably so, just not publicly disclosed) but it takes a long while..

And there you have your answer.
To have paypal accept that phone number for verification purposes youll have to have it on the account for 3-4 months (from my experience at least).

Ooof... that's worse than what I recalled. I'd better check and make sure I don't have to update any numbers, what with all the PP changes coming soon.

For the time being can you get your money out by purchasing something you need?
