"Your Transfer Is Delayed 48 Hours" Message

Went to withdraw some money a few minutes ago and the withdrawal screen looked a little different than usual..."updated" look, I should say. After submitting the withdrawal, I got a message that popped up saying "your transfer is delayed 48 hours" and that they would email me if the withdrawal was approved. Something to that effect. I've never seen this message before today. This is a 6 month old business account, no issues AT ALL...never had a dispute filed, always shipped on time, etc. This kind of gives me an uneasy feeling, like they are about to limit my account for some reason. Has anyone had this message come up??

The accounts in which I've seen this message get limited eventually from my experience. I would take it as a sign to cool the account off for a month and use others

I noticed the withdrawal page had changed this morning.

Yea, the withdrawal page changed for me today as well. Yesterday it wasn't like this. But I'm moreso wondering if anyone has encountered the whole "your transfer is delayed" message with a red exclamation mark inside of a triangle.

I haven't seen this yet but aren't they implementing their new policies in the next few days? Might be the prelude to disaster...

Re: "Your Transfer Is Delayed 48 Hours" Message

yes that transfer delayed with red triangle means you are moving funds out that account too fast...you will wait 2-3 days AFTER any transaction to then withdraw/send funds...But nothing is going to happen if you got that "transfer delayed" message, Your transfer will just be completed in 3 days instead within a few hours...

Re: "Your Transfer Is Delayed 48 Hours" Message

So basically instead of making it a mystery whether your withdrawal will take 24, 48 or 72 hours...now they are giving you a popup telling you it's going to take 24/48/72 hours? Not sure why they have to make you sweat by practically saying we think you're doing something illegal, so we're scrutinizing this withdrawal due to security....oh wait, because Paypal.

What's interesting is if you use the classic link to withdrawal, you won't even see the 24, 48 or 72 hour message at all. Come to think of it, I only started seeing this message when they started making changes to the GUI.

Re: "Your Transfer Is Delayed 48 Hours" Message

What is the "classic link" you speak of? I always withdraw from (warning paypal link:) paypal.com/wdfunds by typing it in directly. That's where I got the message this morning.

Re: "Your Transfer Is Delayed 48 Hours" Message

The "classic" link I am referring to is as follows:

Step 1: Login to your PP the normal way.
Step 2: Once already logged in, go DIRECTLY to this link:
http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...withdraw-funds

You will get to the old page and be presented with all withdrawal options for your particular account.

Keep in mind there are a number of these "hidden" pages in the PayPal GUI that map to existing (or inaccessible) functions. There are also special API calls into the backend of the site. Some of these pages are for "administrative" use which I obviously am not at liberty to discuss on this board.

The "classic" pages however have always been there, and they may function a little differently than the "new" site we usually see.

Oh, some of these links are actually "public" if you are good at searching and know were to find them. Just understand that some just change the appearance but the functionality will be exactly the same as the "new" existing site. Other than that, they do nothing special.

Some links however (such as the classic w/d page above) seems to work a little differently. For example I found that it will sometimes bypass the error "Can't Sent Money Right Now", or some other Security Verification routine during the withdrawal action.

As anyone who has dealt with PayPal long enough can attest to, their site can at times be a bit "buggy". It helps to use an alternate link that does some function when the normal one screws up.

These sites are just a series of complex scripts and some of those pages are just "hidden" from view. This is nothing really earthshattering or new, it's just how they are put together.

Thanks for the "classic link"...I have always just gone to paypal.com/wdfunds but that I guess is just the current withdrawal link. Do you know if using the classic link bypasses 24/48/72 hour withdrawals?

nickopedia 04-15-2018 05:19 PM

Re: "Your Transfer Is Delayed 48 Hours" Message

From what I've seen I don't see the 24/48/72 hour security review warning when using the classic link, only the current (new) site seems to do this.

As far as actual speed of the transfers, I have not seen much difference although they rarely take more than 24 hours to complete for most of my accounts.

Does not bypass

The classic link doesn't send you to classic withdrawal...just tried it out. It forwards me to paypal.com/moneytransfer which is the new layout. :violin:

When exactly would these new policies be implemented?

My experience
About ten days ago I had the 72 hrs. on several withdraws. The withdraws cleared nearly in the three days. Then, this weekend it gave me the 48 hour delay for withdraw and they showed cleared in two days. This week thus far it gives the 1 day withdraw and have actually been completed in 2 hrs or so.

This has also been by experience on newer accounts that I created in the last month or so. First w/d I usually get the 72 hour message, then the next one 48, then 24 after that. Once the "break in" period is over, then it will give me the green check mark & the money will clear into Wells Fargo or BofA early the next morning, usually no later than 9am Eastern Time on a weekday.

I have also noted that I will nearly always get the 72 hour message if the amount is larger, say over $500 on any account that is less than 1-2 months old. The funds are marketplace sales (eBay/Bonan/Etsy) NOT money that came in via F&F or some direct pay.
