question on paypal verification (US)

I understand paypal USA now check to see if the number on a paypal account is registered under the same name as the paypal account owner, my question is this, what happens if the name on the number is not the same as the name of the account owner? would this cause any problems?

Are you talking about the phone number or the address number, or even the tax info number that is provided in some cases?

you should add your phone number when you register your paypal.
