PayPal Problem

So I've been selling some virtual accounts and my account got limited, so I uploaded everything they needed and PayPal restored my account within a couple of hours. Whenever I'm selling I tell my customers to send payments as friends and family so they can't chargeback, but after recieving the email from PayPal telling me that my account was restored they also said this:

However, we're not sure if you're aware of this, but we noticed that some of your customers are sending you personal payments for purchases. Unfortunately, this violates our rules, and we need your help correcting this. Please don't ask or allow your customers to use personal payments to pay for their purchases.

If we continue to see such activity we may have to disable your ability to receive personal payments, and then you will be required to pay fees for all money received through PayPal.
I'm still selling and I dunno what to do, I wanna still recieve as f/f when I'm selling, any response is appreciated thanks.

Re: PayPal Problem

If you take in too many F&F payments they will make it to where you cant receive them any more. You're taking money (fees) from them while utilizing the service they provide. Think of it this way, you're doing to them what you dont want to happen to you i.e. losing money on services you provide.

I would look for something else to sell or make a lot of PayPal accounts for when the restrictions come and it will come faster since you're flagged now.

Re: PayPal Problem

How do they know it's customers?

It's pretty obvious to them, they can see your whole account history.

I've had the same email on one account. Maybe they're cracking down on it.

I usually just receive a mixture of f&f and g&s and never had an issue until now.

I wouldn't keep receiving such payments. You'll up losing the privilege of friends and family payments.

Just get another account going if it means that much to you.

If you're getting F&F payments from multiple people at different times of the day from different areas of the world then it's pretty obvious. I don't know your numbers but if they're emailing you then they consider the amount excessive.

If I told my customers to send a note in the payment, making it look like their a friend or something would that work?

They are still not stupid

Just let PayPal take their 3% if you want to not risk your account

As James said - they're not stupid. You can try every way to get around it that you can think of and every one of those ways will work ... until they get tired of it.

I think the main giveaway is lots of payments. Generally people don't have friends and family sending them lots of payments every day from lots of different accounts. If you're getting lots of payments, you're likely to be a business. Simple as that.

Unless you're willing to throttle your income for the sake of saving a few percent in fees, I can't imagine you finding a workaround.

Agreed, you're doing it for the protection, not so much the 3% savings. However PayPal has Family and Friends only for Family and Friends because the chances of dispute are much lower and it's an incentive for people to sign up (no fee transactions). You're abusing those benefits according to PayPal (which puts them at higher risk).

No easy way to continue with family and friends unfortunately. You could spread out transactions over multiple accounts but that's not guaranteed without problem.

Are you accepting bitcoin and other payment options?

I can imagine people buying such accounts would know of bitcoin, and many may even use it. I'd definitely add it as a payment option and see how it goes.

It's a irreversible transaction, so in terms of seller protection, its the gold standard. But buyers would only pay you if they trust you.
