Canadians Banks & Stealth Accounts ,Mismatched Name
 

i have longtime with my canadian bank .. have 2 accounts there ... now planning to open new account , link it to new stealth pp account ..
my questions are:

- when withdraw from pp to my bank , do banks read the pp account holder name ?

- what if they ask me why the name in pp account is completely different , what can i answer ?

1) Banks can see the name but many allow it to come through. Some dont though. I know EQBank declines payments with name mismatches. National Bank, although a terrible bank, accepts name mismatches. TD should as well. Business bank accounts are your best bet.

2) All kinds of things, its an alias, its an employee, you have several accounts and use different names to keep records straight. Make something up.

You can avoid them asking by a) keeping amounts low and spread out and b) build good relationship with the banks...e.g. don't withdraw to zero or negative, maintain a balance, invest, etc
