Cant apply for paypal debit card - weird glitch?
 

Hey guys,

So Ive been using my account for a while now, and I needed to get the paypal debit card. When I login to PayPal it automatically said that im pre-approved for the debit card and to click here to apply. So I did and it asked to verify the address with the credit card on file, I entered all the info, it went through, but it keeps going back to the same page. It never processes. It just goes to the last where the last step is "Select Address" then goes to the Add and Confirm Your Address, and after that goes through, it goes back to the 3 Step page to apply, 1. Get Verifies, 2. Upgrade your PP account, 3. Select Address .. Im up to the select address part and cannot get it to go through.

The cards work, the address is confirmed if you goto addresses. I even tried another gift card but it gives me the same thing.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

any ideas guys? I really need the debit card from them.

Must be you, a seller reported it working today to get a debit card.

You haven't hit the 60 day mark yet. It will say you are approved when you have 30 days in, but you aren't eligible until 60 days.

You have to have 60 days up AND the account has to be in good standing. This means no problems even if they got resolved.:pout:

I know all of this, I'm not a newbie to this, sorry if it came off that way. The account was registered in '08 and has about 100 transactions going through it.

The card is not being denied, its the application that just never goes through.

When I goto apply for it it tells me my last step is to "Select Address", I click that and it always takes me to the "Add and confirm address", so I confirm it with the gift card, click Add and after that it just takes me back to the same page where it says "Select Address", its like a never-ending cycle.

The address is confirmed with the gift card with the expuse #.

Perhaps it could be because of the debit card? .. The weirdest thing is that there are NO error or denied messages anywhere, and its not the first time I applied for a debit card either, so I know what I'm doing.

Any input would be very appreciated.

The only time I've ever seen that happen is when the account is +30days but -60days old. It happens exactly that way under those conditions.

Perhaps you became eligible and the 'flag' went on, then something happened that made you ineligible but didn't turn the 'flag' off.

The 60day thing has nothing to do with when the account was created. It starts counting when you are verified. So if your account was 497.6 years old but unverified until last week, no dice.

The account has been confirmed and verified since January (if not even earlier). Everything is in good standing. ... any other ideas?

Did you have anything about routinue maintenance on the paypal site? Or did you notice any such message. I had a glitch but not with applying like you. Have you signed out of paypal completely, signed in & tried again?
ebay does this pretty often: we do something we have done B4: know what we are doing but there's troubles at their end.

Might have to consider speaking to them? :peace:

Yes, I tried all of that of course. No maintenance or trouble. I tried applying for the past 4 days. I don't particularly want to speak to PayPal about this account, any other ideas? .. Ive considered contacting them already but thats LAST resort.

Why not just call paypal and just ask them directly?

Something like this has happen to me before. What I did to resolve is
Email or Call paypal ; explain their is some kind of a "glitch" telll them that your having this problem. They should fix it a 2-3 days, in my case they did.

Also, if they don't approve you the first time, just try again. I got approved on my second try. And that you have money on the card the first time you used it or it won't work.

What is the most recent type of card you used to confirm the address. Please don't give me any information about previous cards. Just the most recent.

Was it VCC? Was it purchased at a store? Who is the card issuer? Is it Visa, MC, AMEX? Did you register the card online or by phone with the issuer?

When did the button to apply for the Debit Card first show up on your main PP screen?
