New 2.5% Fee to Withdrawal to US Bank Accounts
 

Hi everyone,

I have noticed recently that the PayPal (Hong Kong) Account has a new rule for withdrawaling funds to a US bank account.

There’s a banner saying there’s a 2.5% fee on the funds withdrawn. However, it’s strange because some PayPal links say that this withdrawal is free, so I’m getting conflicting info.

Has anyone recently tried to withdraw funds from a Hong Kong or non-US PayPal account to a US bank account? Were you charged any fees for it?

I wasn't aware you can even withdrawal to the USA bank on a Hong Kong PayPal account?

You can withdraw from any countries PayPal to a US bank account

It may well be that the fee is a new fee only recently introduced

I haven't seen it since I don't use bank accounts on any of my foreign Paypal's, but I've suspected this was coming for a while. I'm sure in the near future as Paypal and eBay continue to breakup Paypal will start to charge a fee for any and all withdrawals.

It's probably costing them money processing foreign withdrawals into USA bank accounts.

I can withdraw to US banks from Paypal from other countries? Is this for real?

Im not sure if its every country on the planet but I haven't come across many that you cannot withdraw to a US bank account.

Certain countries (Canada is a prime example) say you can add and withdraw to a USA bank account, but they make it impossible to actually add and use a USA bank account.

I speculate it was easier to add US bank accounts to foreign PP's before the USA "200/$20,000" tax law was introduced years ago. Nobody would use USA accounts if you could just open a CA PP, add your USA bank, and never have to provide a tax ID.

I read something about a withdrawal fee a few days ago.

It's sounding more like an ATM fee or international fee.

Yes from Hk paypal you can withdraw to usa bank account in usd ot was no fees before and dont think it will be any

I did read somewhere that they are gonna implement a fee for those transfers. What I'm more worried about is if there'll be a fee for a local transaction
