Method to get money back from dishonest buyer did NOT work...

Update from this thread:

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/paypal-...ck-buyers.html

I had read about several methods to keep a dishonest buyer from getting his money back through a Paypal claim he filed.

I tried one of the methods, outlined as below.

1. The buyer files a not as described claim, in which PP decides in their favor and my only option is to accept a return and give a refund.

2. I then contact the buyer outside of PP or eBay (direct email) with this sappy message and apologize for all the inconvenience I cause him, blah blah blah, I was in the middle of moving and had a lot of things on my plate - tell him since I just moved he will have to send it to my new address.

3. I give him an out of state address where I am able to retrieve the package.

4. Tracking updates and shows it has been delivered, and PP gives him his money back without even viewing the tracking results.

5. I email PP and tell them to view the tracking results because I never got the package and the tracking shows it was delivered to an address in a state I don't even live in.

6. They re-open the claim as an appeal, and it shows as "being reviewed buy PP" for about 7 days.

7. I get an email from PP saying they requested proof of postage from the buyer and "The buyer has provided adequate proof of delivery of the returned
merchandise to an active, alternate address listed on your PayPal account.
As a result, we are unable to grant your appeal on this claim."

How can they say it was shipped to an alternate address on my PP account?? I have NEVER used this account to ship to that address!

do you think buyer knew that the paypal address wasnt real so deliberately sent say a registered letter to that address (without sending item) ?

No, he sent the item to that adress. Although I think the part was the old part he took off his car and kept the one I sent him.

Well, I just realized I made a very stupid mistake! :doh:

I purchased something on eBay using the same Paypal account and had it shipped to the address that they guy shipped the item to. It was the very same day that I purchased that item that Paypal decided in the buyers favor.

:doh::doh::doh:
